Who are the people on the G&P Law team? What does their work consist of and what inspires them? What do they enjoy doing in their free time? We share their stories in a series of interviews for the #G&PLawTeam column. The second person we introduce is Borislav Simplichev, a lawyer who has been with the company since its inception in 2018. Besides being highly responsible and possessing in-depth knowledge in the fields of renewable energy and company law, Borislav also has a rich sense of humor. See for yourself in the following lines.
What do you do at G&P Law?
– In the last three years, my work has primarily involved consulting on investment intentions in the energy sector, particularly renewable energy sources.
What inspires you the most in your work?
– The ability to find simple answers to complex questions.
When and how did you know that this would be your profession?
– I knew this would be my profession when I realized that my efforts could lead to significant changes in someone’s life, whether through resolving household issues in court or developing large infrastructure projects.
What disappoints you and what fascinates you compared to your initial ideas?
– Respect, or rather the lack of it, is the answer to both. I believe respect still exists, but unfortunately, it is limited to individual guilds and not widespread between them.
What’s the best piece of professional advice you’ve ever received?
– Always check something at least twice.
What are the three things you like most about your job?
– First, the opportunity to acquire comprehensive knowledge. Second, the responsibility that one learns to take on and handle accordingly. And lastly, talking to relatives about free legal advice.
How would you explain to your grandmother what you do?
– I would read her the business card on the site; she would lose interest, and we would move on to talking about marriage and great-grandchildren.
How do you imagine your profession in 10 years?
– In ten years, I envision the profession involving extensive use of technology, which will necessarily lead to the digitization of judicial and administrative procedures, thus reducing the time required for their execution.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
– I like to run so I can indulge in all kinds of goodies with less remorse. The reverse order of this statement is also valid.
