Who are the people on the G&P Law team? What does their work involve, and what inspires them? What do they enjoy doing in their free time? We share this in a series of interviews as part of the #G&PLawTeam column. The next person we introduce is Hristomir Ivanov, who has been part of our team since April 2022. He specializes in European law, with a particular focus on passenger rights in international air transport, as well as other areas of law, which he discusses in the interview. Miro also shares what inspires him in his profession, his thoughts on the team he works with, his future plans, and a favorite song of his.

What is your role at G&P Law?
I defend the rights of air passengers by helping them obtain compensation for delayed or canceled flights, lost luggage, and other irregularities. G&P Law has a dedicated online platform for this part of its work – AvioClaim.com. In addition, I assist business clients in establishing the legal framework for their activities and help resolve a wide range of civil law cases.
What inspires you most about your work at AvioClaim and G&P Law?
What inspires me the most is the feeling that I am helping people protect their rights in an area where they often feel powerless against large companies. The trust of our clients and the satisfaction of achieving success motivate me to give my best.
What attracted you to G&P Law and keeps you here?
I was drawn by the professionalism of the team and the opportunity to work on interesting and dynamic cases. I stay because of the friendly atmosphere, the team spirit, the youthful energy, and the freedom to develop my expertise in a specific and important area of law.
When and how did you realize this would be your profession?
Even before my studies, I knew I wanted to focus on the practical application of law rather than just theory. Over time, I discovered how important and fulfilling it is to protect people’s rights, which led me to my current specialization.
What has disappointed you, and what has exceeded your expectations compared to your initial perceptions?
I was disappointed by how often large companies rely on people not seeking their rights and by the fact that many individuals don’t believe they can take action. What has impressed me is that a well-argued legal claim can completely change the outcome of a case in favor of the client.
What is the best professional advice you have ever received?
There’s no time like the present! Make the most of your youth and put in the effort now to reap the rewards in the future.
What do you think are the most important qualities for this profession?
Precision, patience, and the ability to communicate clearly and convincingly with people. Adaptability is also crucial since law is a dynamic field.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Every successfully resolved case is an achievement, but the most satisfying ones are those where clients have already given up hope and believe they have no chance – and we manage to turn things around.
What are the three things you like most about your job?
The team of professionals;
The satisfaction of a job well done;
The opportunity to help people in real-life situations.
If you could change one thing in the field of law, what would it be?
Legal education should be three years long.
How would you explain your job to your grandmother?
I write long letters to the court, convincing big companies to do what they should (and what I want).
How do you see your profession in 10 years?
I expect technology to simplify some processes, but the human factor will always be essential. I believe that passenger and client protection will become even more effective, and legal mechanisms will be further refined to address new challenges in the profession.
What is the next step in your legal career?
I am preparing to take the bar exam, after which I will be able to practice law independently and to its fullest extent.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I love strength training because I believe that maintaining both a healthy mind and a healthy body is essential.
