Who are the people at G&P Law? What does their work involve, and what inspires them? What do they enjoy doing in their free time? We share insights in a series of interviews as part of the #G&PLawTeam segment. The next person we introduce is Nikalas Angelov, who has been part of our team since the fall of 2023. He is a Law student at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” with interests in property and obligations law, as well as civil and enforcement proceedings. Known as the “Talisman of the Office,” Niko gives us a brief look into his journey, the inspiration he finds in his work, the future of the legal profession, and the things he enjoys in his free time.

What is your role at G&P Law?

My work at G&P Law involves debt collection under contracts, claims for compensation due to torts, property and non-property damages, as well as assistance in work-related accidents. This means I actively work in civil and enforcement proceedings, as well as various administrative procedures. I also assist the team by drafting various legal documents and analyzing case law.

What inspires you most about your work?

What inspires me the most is the opportunity to genuinely help people facing significant challenges and difficulties—especially when they are in urgent need of support and protection. At the same time, my work constantly pushes me to learn new things, develop my skills, and improve—because every situation is different and requires a unique approach and in-depth knowledge. The dynamics of the job and the ability to defend people’s rights are what drive me forward.

What attracted you to G&P Law and keeps you here?

What drew me to G&P Law was, first and foremost, the friendly and supportive team environment. The team is highly motivated, with people who are always ready to help and share their experience. It’s a place where I can grow, refine my skills, and feel valued as part of the team. The opportunities I have to work on various cases allow me to expand my legal knowledge and gain practical experience.

When and how did you realize that law would be your profession?

Since childhood, I have been surrounded by people involved in law—whether in my family, among friends, or acquaintances. This naturally influenced my decision to pursue a legal career. I saw how interesting and impactful this field can be, both for personal development and for helping others. Over time, I realized that law is not only fascinating but also dynamic, offering countless opportunities for growth.

What are the top three things you love most about your job?

  1. Helping people when they need it the most.
  2. Working with professionals—I collaborate with colleagues I can rely on and learn from every day.
  3. The dynamic nature of the job—no two days are the same, every situation is different, and this keeps me engaged, thinking critically, and adapting.

How do you see the legal profession in 10 years?

I envision the legal profession evolving towards a much more modern and efficient system. I expect an expanded use of digital justice platforms, with integrated systems for information exchange between courts, administrative bodies, and citizens. This will ensure greater efficiency, transparency, and ease of access. I believe the profession will continue to develop toward higher professional standards.

What is the next step in your legal career?

As a student, I strive to enhance my practical experience and deepen my legal knowledge. There are many opportunities ahead, and I am motivated to seize them to grow in the best way possible.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work and university, I love spending time outdoors with friends—walks help me clear my mind and recharge. I also enjoy reading books that offer different perspectives—not just legal literature, but also inspiring stories.
